  The Department of Education of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) announced the creation of the Berard L. Marthaler Scholarship for Educational and Catechetical Leadership. The award was announced June 8 at a celebration honoring Father Marthaler for his thirty years of service as Executive Editor for the catechetical journal The Living Light.
• Catechetical Journal "The Living Light" To Cease Publication (04-087)

  Sister Glenn Anne McPhee, OP, Secretary for Education at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), announced that the Department of Education will cease publication of the catechetical journal, The Living Light, later this year. The last issue to be released will be the Summer 2004 issue.

  Raymond Burnell, a California educator, has been named to head the U.S. Catholic Conference Office for Catholic School Parent Associations. He assumes his new position in February, succeeding Kenneth John Dupre, who left the position on permanent disability, after suffering a heart attack last year.
